“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”- Matthew 6:14-15 NKJV

Forgiveness is expected of us if we want our Heavenly Father to forgive us. We have all fallen short at some point in our lives. There has been a time when you have wronged someone or failed to keep a promise. You would like people to forgive you of your wrong doing and it’s most likely that you have been forgiven by God for some despicable things you’ve done.

Forgiveness gives us the opportunity to release the old and start fresh. It allows us to move forward in life and become better than who we were yesterday. Many are held captive in the past because they have yet to forgive themselves or others.

We cannot allow unforgiveness into our hearts. It will lead to bitterness, shame, anger, malice, and many other negative emotions. Forgiveness allows you to free your heart or release yourself of these things.

You’re probably thinking, but it still hurts and I don’t want anything to do with that person, who is the cause of my pain. It’s okay and that is completely understandable. Forgive and ask God to heal the pain that you are feeling. God is your healer. In Psalms 147:3 it says, “He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.” Release those who have harmed you by forgiving them and allow God to heal your broken heart.

#wepraydaily Heavenly Father, we ask that you forgive us for all of our mishaps. We aim to do our very best each day but tend to fall short. Forgive us as we learn to forgive others. We declare today a better day than yesterday. Thank you in advance for all the blessings this new day brings. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen 🙏🏾
